This has to be one of my favorite moments of the day. Al Roker finally gets a presidential interview- and actually got the first post-speech press statement from President Barack Obama.

The Lion of the Senate

MSNBC reports Senator Ted Kennedy, after making such an impact in his much-talked about fedora earlier this morning, has fallen ill. He has been rushed to a D.C. hospital, where officials say he is alert and awake.

INAUGUBLOG Part 2

Yes, my cable went out, 5 minutes in to President Obama's speech. I don't want to talk about it.

I was moved to tears today. First as President Obama took the oath of office. Then as my television screen went out for 10 minutes. I kept tearing up until I saw Bush board Executive 1. Couldn't cry after that. Too amazing for tears.

What a day.

INAUGUBLOG

The coffee is ready, and I scooped the last L.A. Times from the box on the corner (75 cents!?). MSNBC has been blasting since 7am and I already have too many favorite Inauguration day quotes. Here, a partial list:

"To answer the question we were asking, 'would Senator Kennedy be here', you're damn right he would be here." -Keith Olbermann

"Has Ted Kennedy brought back the hat?" - Chris Matthews

"I mean it's really reminiscent of the Romanov's. There's a sense of this fall from grace." -Chris Matthews on the Bush legacy
